Mrs. Gladys Hall Died Sept. 29th

Mrs. Fred (Gladys May) Hall, 80, longtime resident of this city, died Monday, Sept. 29, 1969, at Riverside Manor in Ames, where she had spent the past four and one half years.

The daughter of Homer J. and May Howard Squire, she was born August 31, 1889, in Mitchell County, Iowa.

She was married to Fred Y. Hall on August 15, 1912, at Grinnell. She lived at Colfax all of her married life.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband on May 20, 1956.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Colfax, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Colfax; a member of the PEO of Colfax and the Colfax Woman’s Club.

Surviving is a son, James N. Hall of Ames, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Arthur W. and Homer H. Hall; her parents, and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 1st at 2 p.m. in Walters Funeral Home at Colfax. The Rev. Roy Allen Wilson officiated.

Mrs. Darrold Hunter was the soloist and Miss Eleanor Howell was the organist.

The bearers were Royal Cross, Harold Taylor, George T. Weirick, Frank Millburn, Lowell Kono and Leland Kono.

Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Des Moines (IA) Register or The Newton (IA) Daily News, Thurs 20 Oct 1969.
