Beulahdean De Vries

Prairie City – Funeral services for Mrs. Lester (Beulahdean) De Vries, 57 of rural Colfax, a longtime Jasper County resident, were held today, May 28, at the Christian Reformed Church in Prairie City.

The Rev. Leonard Stockmeier, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Memorial contributions to a fund in Mrs. DeVries’ name may be left at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City or at the church.

She died Saturday evening, May 25, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Survivors are her husband; five sons, Robert of Monroe, James of Prairie City, and John, Donald and William, all at home; three daughters, Marilyn Miller of Carlisle, Betty Van Zee of Osceola and Mrs. Brian (Carol) Rumbaugh of Mingo; and eight grandchildren.

Also surviving are her mother, Cora Bos of Pella; two brothers, Dwight Bos of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Clarence Bos of Wagner, Okla.; and a sister, Mrs. John (Anita) Betz of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Marcia Ann.

Mrs. De Vries was a member of the Christian reformed Church in Prairie City and e Sunshine Sewing Club.

The daughter of John and Cora Wynberg Bos, she was born Nov. 13, 1927 in Prairie City and was graduated from Pella Christian High School in 1944.

She was married May 6, in Prairie City. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Des Moines (IA) Register or The Newton (IA) Daily News.
