John Drake Sr., 67, of Lacona died Sunday at Des Moines general Hospital of complications of diabetes. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mosher Funeral Home, and burial will be in Arnold Cemetery.

Mr. Drake lived in Warren County all his life and retired as a factory worker at Deere & Co. He was a member of Paul Revere Masonic Lodge, United Auto Workers and Grand Masonic Lodge of Iowa.

Among survivors are his wife, Jo Ann; four daughters, Rebecca Nelson of Ames, Clarissa Shelton of Lacona, Danette Zisoff of Indianola and Lori Hogue of Monroe; two sons, John Jr. of Windsor Heights and Leath “Chip” of Indianola; six sisters, Freda Herman of Casey, Carolyn Miller of Knoxville, Dixie Conklin of Hot Springs, Ark., Beverly Allsup of Winterset and Judy Murray and Roberta Hatfield, both of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6:30 p.m. until a 7:30 p.m. Masonic service. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The
