Pearl A. Pink Dies on Friday; Services Tuesday

Mrs. William (Pearl A.) Pink, 91, of the Jasper County Care Facility, formerly of 321 E. 3rd St. S., a longtime resident of Jasper County, died Friday evening at the Facility.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Johnson-Reese Chapel.

The Rev. Morris Hay, pastor of the Hickory Grove Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery, southeast of Newton.

Survivors are her husband, William of the Jasper County Care Facility; three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Gretchen) Strohman of Earp, Calif., Mrs. Carolyn Lowis of Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. William (Melba) Longren of Davenport; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Miss Hazel Neff of Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Pink was a member of the Mount Zion Church, southeast of Newton.

The daughter of Christopher and Mary Neff, she was born June 27, 1886 in South Dakota.

She was married Mar. 24, 1909 in Fairmont, nine miles west of Monroe.

Mrs. Pink grew up on a farm near Monroe and lived on a farm southeast of Newton for many years before moving to Newton. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Monday, January 30, 1978.
