Nellie I. Coon Services to Be Held Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Floyd E. (Nellie I.) Coon, 86, of 212 W 9th St. N., a resident of Newton for a number of years, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. William Sexton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Thursday.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Harriet) Blanchard, Mrs. Clyde (Wanda) Banks and Mrs. Jerry (Frances) Foster, all of Newton; a foster son, Warner Zerhan of Blockton; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Leach of Mansfield, Ill.; and a sister, Mrs. Harold (Margie) Schudle of Mansfield, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in June, 1970, and two sisters.

Mrs. Coon was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Lohrville.

The daughter of George and Cora Leach, she was born Nov. 23, 1891 at Mansfield, Ill.

She was married to Floyd E. Coon, Feb. 19, 1911 at Lohrville.

She died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blanchard. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Wednesday, January 25, 1978
