Dale C. Gifford Dies; Services Will Be Friday

Dale Clark Gifford, 49, of 502 W. 2nd St. S. a resident of Newton for 25 years, died at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. James Conger, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Thursday.

Memorial contributions to the United Cerebral Palsy of Central Iowa will be accepted. They may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a brother, Charles Gifford of Newton; two nephews, Charles Scott Gifford and Jeff Weldon, both of Newton; and a niece, Traci Weldon of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Gifford, a member of the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, was a former employe of the Automatic Washing Machine Co.

The son of Charles W. and Edna Lucille Clark Gifford, he was born July 17, 1928 at Iowa City and attended Ira and Mingo schools. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Tuesday, January 24, 1978
