Lloyd W. Hess, Former Newton Resident, Dies

Lloyd W. Hess, 84, of 101 Rawlings Dr., San Jose, Calif. a former resident of Newton died Sunday at the O’Connor Hospital in San Jose.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. today at the Lima Family-Erickson Funeral Home in San Jose. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif.

Survivors are a son, Whitney, with whom Mr. Hess resided; two daughters, Shirley Hess of Yucaipa, Calif., and Margaret Waddell of Newton; a sister, Mrs. Eula Anderson of Edina, Minn.; and three grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Mr. Hess, a retired employe of the Vernon Co. in Newton, was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1270. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Tuesday, January 24, 1978
