Rolland Triplett Dies Saturday; Services Thursday

SEARSBORO – Rolland L. Triplett, 48, of Searsboro, died Saturday at his home following an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

The Rev. Irene Weitert, pastor of the Searsboro Community Friends Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows cemetery in Searsboro.

Survivors are his wife, Arlene; four children; three brothers, Raymond of Grinnell, Ronald of Sun Valley, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Earl (Ruth) Lemke of Kellogg, Mrs. Clyde (Betty) Phipps of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Wilbur (Donna) Hunter of Kellogg, Mrs. Bobbett Henning of Kellogg and Mrs. Barbara Wright of Brooklyn; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Mr. Triplett, who served in the Army in Italy during World War II, was a Star Route mail carrier for 16 years, had been employed at the Parsons Co. in Newton and had been employed at Miracle Recreation in Grinnell for the last three years.

The son of Luellan and Lorena Smith Triplett, he was born July 5, 1929 at Long Pine, Neb., and attendedGrinnell schools.

He was married to Arlene Mae Church Jan. 26, 1951 at Grinnell. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Monday, January 23, 1978
