Monday Services for Clyde Miller

Clyde Miller, 88, of Kellogg died this morning at Heritage Manor.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Carl Klein of the Kellogg United Methodist Church Monday at 1 p.m. at the Johnson-Reese Chapel. Burial will be in the West Liberty Cemetery of rural Searsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Sunday.

A memorial has been established and will be named later by the family. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Marie of Heritage Manor; two sons, Claire Miller of Kellogg and Ivan Miller of Platte city, Neb.; a daughter, Mrs. Owen (Esther) Barr of Newton; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also, one sister Mrs. Orpha Steele of Montezuma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Lloyd in 1972 and Floyd in 1977; four brothers and one sister.

Mr. Miller was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church. He served as Kellogg town marshall for several years and, until retiring in 1955, was employed by Mid-West Industries of Kellogg.

He was born June 4, 1889, on a farm in Poweshiek County near Searsboro and received his education in rural Poweshiek schools. He was married to Marie Tish Nov. 23, 1913 at Searsboro and moved to Kellogg in 1932. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Friday, January 20, 1978
