Frances Casper Dies Saturday; Services Tuesday
Mrs. Adolphus (Frances L.) Casper, 91, of Embassy Manor, a resident of Newton since 1924 and former resident of Monroe and Prairie City, died Saturday afternoon at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson-Reese Chapel. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the First Christian Church will be accepted. They may be left at Johnson–Reese Chapel.
Survivors are a son, Robert of Newton; two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Louise) Green of Newton and Mrs. Ted (Vera) Dickerson of Newton; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Roush of Newton; and two sisters, Mrs. Lena McDaniel of Newton and Mrs. Susie Casper of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, four sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Casper, a member of the First Christian Church, had been an employee of Newton Manufacturing Co. and DunLap Manufacturing Co. before retiring in 1947.
The daughter of William E. and Eliz Thomason Roush, she was born May 28, 1886 on a farm in southern Jasper County and attended rural Jasper County schools.
