Edna B. Bailey, 78, of Colfax died of a kidney ailment Sunday at Mayflower Home in Grinnell. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lakeview Chapel at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.Mrs. Bailey was born in Marshall County and had lived in Colfax 25 years. She retired from Job Service of Iowa in Des Moines.
Survivors include his son, Harrison of Marshalltown; two daughters, Meredith Williams of Cedar Rapids and Margaret Simmons of Marshalltown; a brother, Wilbur Gile of Marshalltown; three sisters, and Rosalee Bailey of Marshalltown, Marian Paul of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Alice Meckley of Colfax; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home in Marshalltown, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. ~ Newspaper unnamed, but Possibly The Des Moines Register or The Newton (IA) Daily News.

Edna B. Bailey, 78, of Colfax, died Sunday afternoon, June 27th, at the Mayflower Home in Grinnell.Graveside services are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday from Lakeview Chapel at Riverside Cemetery with Pastor Bob Kosbau officiating. Friends may call at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home in Marshalltown , after 5 p.m. Wednesday and the family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
She was born January 10, 1921 in Marshall County the daughter of Harrison and Grace Palmer Gile.
On August 12, 1939 in Marshalltown she was united in marriage to Wilbur Bailey and he preceded her in death in March of 1996.
Reared and educated in Marshall County she attended the LaMoille Schools. Following her marriage they lived in Marshalltown where she was employed by Cooper Manufacturing. Later she moved to Colfax and it was employed by Job Service of Iowa until her retirement.
Survivors include one son, Harrison Bailey of Marshalltown; two daughters, Meredith, Mrs. Ted Williams of Cedar Rapids, and Margaret, Mrs. Steve Simons of Marshalltown; one brother, Wilbur Gile of Marshalltown; three sisters, Rosalee Bailey of Marshalltown, Marian Paul of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Alice Meckley of Colfax; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
