Velma D. Paley Dies Today; Rites Saturday

Mrs. Sam (Velma D.) Paley, 64, of 616 E. 3rd ST S., a resident of Newton since 1960, died this morning at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. Marvin Potter, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Friday.

Survivors are her husband and her mother, Mrs. Arthur (Maude) Sharnborg of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Mrs. Paley was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

The daughter of Arthur and Nellie M. Sharnborg, she was born May 30, 1913 in Davenport and attended Davenport schools.
