Dennis Eugene McNeeley, 55, of Newton died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home. Memorials in Dennis’ name may be left at the funeral home.

Dennis, the son of David and Sharon (Phillips) McNeeley, was born on Jan. 27, 1959, in Des Moines. He grew up in Colfax and graduated from Colfax High School in 1977. After graduation, Dennis moved to Newton. Dennis was united in marriage with Deborah Deaton on July 6, 1979, in Colfax. He worked as the manager of Sizzlin Sam’s in Newton for many years. Over the last three years, he has worked as a tool repairman at TPI. Dennis enjoyed playing Bingo, Yahtzee and card games. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Deborah McNeeley of Newton; children, Dominic McNeeley of Newton, Mylea McNeeley of Altoona and Richard (Misty) Kinney of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Tierra, Nakalah, Theodore and Annalyse McNeeley; parents, David and Sharon McNeeley of Altoona; and four sisters, Judy (Jeff) Jones of Altoona, Karen (Ron) Warner of Madrid, Kim (Dan) Kite of Colfax and Becky (Kenny) Wade of Altoona. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.
