Dan L. Jones, 65, of Sully died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Friends Church in Lynnville. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Dan Lynn Jones
April 2, 1948 - November 30, 2013

Dan L. Jones, age 65 of Sully, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at his home. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Friends Church in Lynnville. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dan Jones Memorial Fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Oren and Dorothy (Teed) Jones, Dan was born on April 2, 1948 in Colfax. He attended Colfax Schools. On December 12, 1970 he married Lyn Kinney in Knoxville. They later divorced. He worked at Pella Corp and retired in 2003. Dan attended the Friends Church in Lynnville and was also a member of the Lynnville Fire Department. In Dan's early years, he enjoyed doing restoration of painting on cars and motorcycles. He was talented in drawing and painting pictures. He enjoyed watching movies, wood working, sailing, camping, and friends. His all-time favorite times were kidding around especially with the grand kids. He will be missed by all his family and many good friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Eric (Julie) Jones of Sully and Regina (Todd) Kaldenberg also of Sully; three grandchildren, Casey, Zack and Luke; and his brothers, Victor Jones of Colfax, Jeff (Judy) Jones of Altoona and Steve (Liz) Jones of Newton. Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant sister, Janice. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa.
