Services to be Held Thursday
Funeral services for Nellie Vonk Van Maaren, 71 of Newton will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 1988, at the Community Reformed Church.
Rev. Paul Nulton, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
She died Monday morning at the Skiff Medical Center.
Survivors are four sons, Alvin and Gary, both of Littleton, Colo., Marvin of Newton and Conrad of Kellogg, three daughters, Nelda (Mrs. Gary) Cleaver of Slater, Pauline (Mrs. Stephen) DeVries of Maquoketa and Nancy (Mrs. Dan) Ouren of Spokane, Wash., and 19 grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Tunis Vonk of Oskaloosa and Richard Vonk of Lambs Grove, six sisters, Jennie Hoksbergen and Minnie (Mrs. Peter) Van Manen, both of Sully, Jeannette Van Dyke and Reno (Mrs. John) Rozenboom, both of Oskaloosa, Evelena (Mrs. Anthony) DeWege of Denver, Colo., and her twin sister, Corrie (Mrs. Cornie) Terpstra of Sully; and three step-sisters, Effie Robinson and Margaret (Mrs. John) Sille, both of Newton, and Mary (Mrs. Orville) Marshall of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Gertrude Vander Schel Vonk, husband, Paul, brother Case Vonk Jr., sister, Gertrude Willemsen, stepbrother, Jay Vander Schel, and stepsister, Cornelia (Mrs. Joe) Stepka.
The daughter of Case and Nellie Van Holland Vonk, she was born Sept. 2, 1916 in Otley.
She was married to Paul H. Van Maaren March 14, 1939 in Killduff.
