James L. Kain, 58, of Runnells died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the Prairie City Church of the Brethren, with burial following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. James L. Kain, age 58 of Runnells, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Kain Memorial Fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.The son of Cloman L. and Marcella (Kingery) Kain, Jim was born on September 14, 1955, in Runnells. He graduated from SE Polk High School. Jim worked as a painter and enjoyed woodworking, reading books and fishing. Those left to honor his memory include, his mother, Marcella; three brothers, Aaron (Sharon) Kain of Runnells, Hot Rod (Mary) Kain of Prairie City and Roger (Barbie) Kain of Prairie City; nieces and nephews, Jodi (John) Breheny, Jami (Jason) Uitermarkt, Hanah (Tim) Miller, Abbi (Jonathon) Uitermarkt, and Eli (Bre) Kain; great nieces and nephews, Alli, Alexa, Graci, Grant, Gretchen, Olivya, Wyatt, Tyler, and Wade. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding Jim in death was his father in 2011 and an infant brother in 1948. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa.
