Kenneth J. March, 85, of Newton died on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Skiff Medical Center.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the funeral home. Memorials to the Killduff United Methodist Church or the Skiff Medical Center may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.

Kenneth, the son of Archie Jay and Rena (Cox) March, was born on Jan. 7, 1928, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1946. Kenneth served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Japan. Kenneth was united in marriage with Norma Beatty on Feb. 20, 1949, at the Pleasant View Church in rural Newton. He was a lifelong farmer and the founder of March Materials Inc. Kenneth enjoyed his work and loved to travel.

Kenneth was survived by his son, Doug (Jane) March of rural Newton; daughters, Linda (Harry) Moeller of Buckingham and Cindy (Michael) Bear of rural Newton; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Norma in 2006. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.
