Alta C. White Dies Friday; Rites Today
PRAIRIE CITY – Funeral services for Mrs. Samuel (Alta Coreen) White, 79, a resident of the Prairie City community since 1928, were held today at the Prairie City Christian Church.
The Rev. John Bolen of Bondurant conducted services. Burial was in the Bondurant Cemetery.
Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City handled arrangements.
She died Friday at the Des Moines General Hospital.
Survivors are her husband; a son, George of Bondurant; a daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Alta Faye) Henley of Thayer, Mo.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Leonard Trunnell of Prairie City; and four sisters, Mrs. Isa Yarnall of Brunswick, Ga., Mrs. Coleen White of Macksburg, Mrs. Edna Thomsen of Bondurant and Mrs. Edith Mendenhall of Thayer, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Mrs. White was a member of the Bondurant Christian Church.
The daughter of William and Lozemba Walker Trunnell, she was born Dec. 30, 1898 at Santiago.
She was married Feb. 19, 1916 at Santiago.
