Martha Stockton dies on Friday; Rites Tuesday
Mrs. Oscar (Martha B.) Stockton, 85, of 306 E. 8th St. S. died Friday evening at the Skiff memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson-Reese Chapel.
The Rev. Lawrence H. Athey, retired Newton minister, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Johnson-Reese Chapel until time of services.
Survivors are a step-son, Frank E. Stockton of Colfax; two step-grandchildren, Dick Stockton of Colfax and Mrs. Beth Fahrney of Bradenton, Fla.; nine step-great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stockton was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers and sisters.
She had practiced as a nurse in Newton for several years.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Austen, she was born Nov. 2, 1892 at Gallatin, Mo.
