Loren Earl Danks Rites Held Today; Dies on Friday
MITCHELLVILLE – Funeral services for Loren Earl Danks, 66, a longtime Mitchellville area farmer, were held today at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.
The Rev. Harold Cashatt, pastor of the Woodland Hills Church of Christ in Des Moines, conducted services. Burial was in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
He died Friday at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Survivors are his wife, Evelyn; a son, Earl of Mitchellville; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Carole) Miller of Altoona; a grandchild; and two brothers, Ralph of Runnells and Floyd of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
The son of Peter and Alda Harp Danks, he was born June 3, 1912 at Percy and was a 1930 graduate of Swan High School.
He was married to Evelyn Colyn Dec. 21, 1940 at Des Moines.
