Worth J. Bebout Dies Saturday; Services Tuesday
Worth J. Bebout, 73, of 620 E. 6th St. N., a resident of Newton for 21 years, died Saturday morning at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home.
Dr. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Chariton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Heart Fund or the Newton Public Library will be accepted. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Luella; a daughter, Linda Bebout of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; and a brother, Virgil Bebout of Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Mr. Bebout was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League and was a United Auto Workers, Local 997, retiree member.
He was a farmer and had worked at the Maytag Co. for 14 years, retiring in 1966.
The son of John and Olivia Reynolds Bebout, he was born April 1, 1905 in Marion County, was graduated from Dallas High School and attended Central College in Pella.
He was married to Luella Shore Aug. 13, 1941 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
