Loren Davis, age 86 passed away on Friday, August 30 at the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics. Loren has been cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. He is survived by his wife, Irene of Hamilton; children: Trudy Calvert (Jerry) of Hamilton, Doran Davis of Knoxville and Daryl Davis of Hamilton; siblings: Ronald Davis (Jean) of Geneva, Iowa; Ruth Bish (Ival) of Woodburn, Iowa and Paul Davis (Connie) of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Evelyn Davis of Newton; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. ~ The Des Moines Register Legacy Website.

Loren Russell Davis was born March 7, 1927 near Marysville, Iowa the son of Loren Wayne Davis and Bertha Mae (Wallace) Davis.Loren graduated from Attica High School in 1945. He then served in the United States Army for 18 months, and was honorably discharged. He worked for the county road maintenance crew for several years after returning home. Loren later took a job at the Knoxville V.A. Medical Center as a clothing clerk.
On October 2, 1957 he was united in marriage to Irene Lankford in Rockford, Illinois. The couple has always made their home in the Marysville/Hamilton area.
In 1985 Loren retired from the V.A. with 32 years of service.
In his spare time, Loren enjoyed collecting, journaling and reading about current events. He liked the outdoors also, from annual mushroom hunting to raising exotic farm animals. Loren also had a deep faith and was a member of the Attica United Methodist Church.
He passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Knoxville Hospitals & Clinics at the age of 86 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 siblings: Lowell Alva Davis, Vern Davis, Lola Arrendell (Ray), Boyd Davis (Carol) and Leatha Braden (Leon) and his daughter-n-law, Cyndie Davis.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Irene of Hamilton; children: Trudy Calvert (Jerry) of Hamilton, Doran Davis of Knoxville and Daryl Davis of Hamilton; siblings: Ronald Davis (Jean) of Geneva, Iowa; Ruth Bish (Ival) of Woodburn, Iowa and Paul Davis (Connie) of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Evelyn Davis of Newton; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Per his wishes, Loren has been cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial of his cremains will be in Gullion Cemetery – Attica, Iowa. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
