Dolores M. Peterson, 86, of Bettendorf passed away at her home on Saturday July 13, 2013. A public memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday July 25, 2013 at The Runge Mortuary with visitation following the service until 4:30 PM. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial donations may be made to The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.

Dolores was born August 25, 1926, in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Marie (du Vignau) Olsen. She attended the University of Iowa, where she met and married her husband Norman Peterson on September 1, 1946.

Dolores was a volunteer at Putnam Children's Museum and at St. Luke's Hospital (now Genesis East Hospital Auxiliary). Among the things she enjoyed were her family, grandchildren, bridge, gardening, golf, fishing, and bowling. She was particularly proud to be a homemaker. She and Norman traveled extensively, visiting six continents. She is fondly remembered by her children and grandchildren as well as her extended family and many friends. ~ Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa.
