Joyce L. Livingston, age 79 of Mitchellville, died Friday, July 19, 2013, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Mitchellville Christian Church. Private family burial will be at the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will take place on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Herman T. and Margaret "Peggy" (Watts) Mickelson, Joyce was born on July 18, 1934, in Webster City. Joyce graduated from Webster City High School. On March 6, 1965, she was united in marriage to James C. Livingston in Newton, Iowa. Joyce lived in Mitchellville since 1968. She was a member of the Mitchellville Christian Church. Joyce's greatest joy was her family, especially her great grandchildren, and many friends.Those left to honor her memory include her two daughters, Connie Jo Wyatt and her husband Bobby of Villa Rica, Georgia and Robbie Joy Jay-Hay and her husband David of Mitchellville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and a sister. ~ The Des Moines Register.
