Monroe has been called upon by death to part with another of her respected citizens, Pless Harp, who died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed McDuff, at the age of 72 years.

Mr. Harp had for the past year made his home with Mrs. McDuff. He had been a great sufferer from heart disease with other complications.

Most of his life was passed at Otley, Marion County, where he was universally respected and loved for his happy disposition.

The funeral occurred at the McDuff home Sunday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. James A. Ross, pastor of the M. E. Church.

Besides Mrs. McDuff his leaves another daughter, Mrs. Sheets of Des Moines, who was with him for some time before he passed away. Interment was in the Monroe Cemetery beside the remains of his wife who had gone before.
