Dora Hartwig

Mrs. Dora Hartwig died at eight o’clock this morning at the home of her son, John Hartwig, on Greencastle Avenue, aged 88 years, 2 months and 2 days. Her death is ascribed to old age and a general breaking down, as she had been quite frail for a long time. Besides her son she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Chris Iske.

The funeral will be held Monday morning at the residence at ten o’clock, services being conducted by Rev. J. W. Hackley of the M. E. Church. Interment in the cemetery north of the city. ~ The Newton News, Saturday, November 28, 1903, page 1, Column 3

Death of Mrs. Hartwig.

Mrs. Dora Hartwig, mother of John Hartwig, died at his home on Greencastle road, at eight o'clock, Saturday, November 28, 1903, aged eighty-eight years, two months and two days. Her death came as nature requires, jsut the severing of the soul from the body that has become diseased and useless, the soul returning to the arms of its Master and the body returning to Mother earth. The funeral services were held in the residence at ten o'clock Monday monring, conducted by Rev. J. W. Hackley. ~ The Newton Journal, December 2, 1903.
