Albert D. Griffin died last night at 11:30 after a tedious illness of several weeks, during which time he was tenderly cared for at the Hotel Lambert.

Mr. Griffin was born Dec. 5, 1830, in East Hamburg, N. Y., coming to Manchester, Iowa in 1878, and to Newton in 1880. His wife, to whom he had been married over forty-two years, died a little more than a year ago. Mr. Griffin had no relatives in this part of the country save a niece, Miss Lulu Heaton, who come a couple of weeks ago to aid in caring for him during his last days.

Deceased was a member of the Masonic Order and from his lodge brethren he received the closet attention and best of care. Mr. Griffin was a very honorable and upright gentleman and during the years of his residence here had made many warm friends.

The funeral will occur tomorrow afternoon at the residence of C. F. Morgan, with whom Mr. Griffin was for years employed. Rev. R. F. Chambers will be the attending minister and the exercises will be under the Masonic Order.
