Mason Adkins, an old citizen died Tuesday evening. The funeral was held at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Lizzie Adkins, Wednesday afternoon. ~ The Newton (IA) News, Friday, June 19, 1903, Page 4, Column 5 – Prairie City
========================================Prairie City (IA) News, 1903Mason Adkins was born July 24, 1833 in Massachusetts.
He died at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. E. B. Adkins in Prairie City on June 15, 1903.
He moved to Connecticut when a child and came to Iowa in 1887.
He married Mrs. Mary A. Todd in June, 1854, who died in l887.
He served his country in the 50's.
