Marvin C. Munger, 83, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann of Newton; and son, Steve (Marcia) Munger of Clive; his three step grandsons, Wes (Sara) Little of Grimes, Adam (Natalie) Little of Davenport, and Geoff Little of Minneapolis, Minnesota; four step great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haydn, Eliott, and Owen; and his sister, Lois Grosvenor of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Vicki in 2003; nephew, Mike Grosvenor in 1981, brother, Lowell; and sister, Lorene Breckenridge.

The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m., until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Jasper County Courthouse Christmas Lighting Fund or to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Humane Society may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Those left to honor Marvin's memory are his wife, Jo Ann; son, Steve (Marcia) Munger of Clive; his three step grandsons, Wes (Sara) Little of Grimes, Adam (Natalie) Little of Davenport, and Geoff Little of Minneapolis, Minnesota; four step great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haydn, Eliott, and Owen; and his sister, Lois Grosvenor of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Vicki in 2003; nephew, Mike Grosvenor in 1981, brother, Lowell; and sister, Lorene Breckenridge

Marvin was a graduate of Newton High School in 1947. He had worked and retired from Newton Foundry and the Newton Community Schools.

Marvin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and the Newton Elks Lodge

Marvin enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, and to Branson
