David L. Allen, formerly of Hampton, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Pouder Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo.

David, the son of Mel and Carmen (Holm) Allen was born January 22, 1957 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa. He graduated from Hampton High School in 1975. He worked for the Hampton water Departpment and Hanson Tree Service for many years. He was also a member of the Hampton Voluntary Fire Department. He later moved to Fort Collins, Colo. where he was a tuck driver for GSI. David enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and exploring the Rocky Mountains. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan.

David is survived by his daughters Nicole (Josh) Wilson of Des Moines and Stacy Allen of Lovington, New Mexico; grandchildren, Quinn and Jordyn Wilson; parents Mel and Carmen Allen of Newton; twin brother Dan (Jane) Allen of Newton; nephew Travis (Hollie) Allen and sons, Austin, Aden and Aaron of West Des Moines and niece Tara (Josh) Versteegh of Newton.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held on May 5 at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Hampton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News Website.
