Lucille Inez Waldorf, passed away March 23, 2013 at the Iowa Hospice Taylor House at the age of 100.

Lucille was born October 22, 1912 in Newton to Carrie and Christopher Rice. Lucille married William Waldorf November 7, 1932. She was a homemaker. Lucille loved her family and her dog Karee. She enjoyed gardening, antiques, going to Sully to eat and going to Tea Rooms.

Lucille (Grandma) is survived by her daughter, Norma Waldorf; her sisters, Maxine Strange, Helen (Elmer) Strange, June Oldes, Ann Wolfram, and Ruth (Dice) Sullenberger; her brother, Donald (Lynne) Rice. She is also survived by many, many friends, especially her caregivers of the past year and a half, Juanita and Dennis Gibson and special people, Dakota Wenzel and Brittanee Strawn. She will be missed by her family, Juanita and Denny and their families, and especially her favorite little dog, Karee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her step-mother, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 am to 12 noon with a eulogy service at 12 noon at Hamilton's Mitchellville Funeral Home, 303 Center Avenue S. Graveside services will follow at the Mitchellville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House in her memory.
