Betsy Spader (1926 - 2013)
Betsy Spader, formerly of Waverly, died March 8 in Little Rock, AR. Spader was born March 18, 1926 in Paris, AR. During World War II, she met Lester Spader and after their marriage, he brought her to Nebraska where they farmed east of Waverly. They had one son.
Spader worked for the State of Nebraska for many years and was very active in the Missionary Alliance Church. After her husband's death, she moved to Newton, Iowa to be near her family. Spader did not know a stranger. After two months in Newton, she knew more people than those who have lived there all their lives. A few years later the family moved to Little Rock, AR.
Spader fought a courageous battle with cancer and on March 8, the Lord said, "Betsy, it's time to come home". Her body was donated to science. Surviving her are her son, Larry and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Rodney, Zach, and Megan, one sister, Lucy; two sisters-in-law, Betty Rexilus and Bonnie Cox, many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Memorials may be sent to Betsy Spader Memorial, Living Faith Community Church, Attn: Rev. Larry Spader, 13 San Vincente Place, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909.
