Sarah A. McDonald died at her home in this city Saturday afternoon at a few minutes after one o’clock, having been sick but a short time with la grippe.

Deceased was born in Argyle, N. Y., October 22, 1819, thus being past 83 years of age. She was the daughter of John and Agnes McDonald and the family moved from New York to Ohio then came on to Iowa. Deceased was a resident of Iowa for forty-five years at the time of her death. Some seven years ago she came to this city and she and her brother, Samuel McDonald, lived together in a cottage on South Vine Street, near the fair ground.

The funeral occurred this afternoon at the United Presbyterian Church at Wild Cat Grove, the services being conducted by Rev. D. R. Martin, pastor of the M. E. Church circuit.
