WILLIAM POSTMA--William Gerke Postma, the son of Gerke D. and Siebe Seegama Postma, was born in Marion CO., Dec. 8, 1864 and died April 20, 1930. He was united in marriage to Caroline Weideman, daughter of Charlie & Margaret Herwehe Weideman, at Galesburg, on Jan 7, 1892. To this union were born five sons and four daughtes, Charlie of Montezuma, Clayton of Moline, IL, Richard of Otley, Wilbur and Oren of Newton, Bertha Woody, Carrie Wolfe, Cecyle Main and Gladys Postma of Newton. Also surviving are two brothers, Ben of Annadarko, OK and Harry of Sioux City, and 16 grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents, one sister, Sarah, two brothers, John and Dick and two granddaughters. He united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at 33 years of age and later with Tool's Chapel Church with the Rev. W. W. Watson in charge of the services. Three musical selections were sung by Neil McKee, Chris Vander Pol, William McConeghey and Bert Vaughn. Mrs. Vaughn was pianist. The floral pieces were arranged by Mrs. Ernest Caulkins, Mrs. Con Kaldenberg and Mrs. Neil McKee. Pallbearers were Roy Marshall, Ernest Caulkins, Jim Van Weelden, Conn Kaldenberg, Herman Swank and Andrew Boat. Interment was made in the Monroe Cemetery.
