KLING, HERWEHE, BRUNNER, VER STEEG, VANDER PUTTE, MARKS

MRS. ADAM KLING--Barbara Herwehe Kling, daughter of Philip and Mary Herwhe, was born in Germany Oct. 21, 1853, and died at her home in Sully, Feb. 9, 1932. She moved with her family to this country at the age of 9 months and settled at Vandalia on a farm. They later moved to a farm near Monroe. Oct. 21, 1874 she was united in marriage to Adam J. Kling, who preceded her in death, Oct 20, 1930. They lived near Galesburg until 26 years ago when they moved to Sully wher they spent the remaining years of their lives. Mrs. Kling is survived by six children, Philip and Mrs. M. S. Brunner of Newton, Albert and Adam of Sully, Mrs. Ed Ver Steeg of Searsboro, Mrs. M.J. Vander Putte of Reasnor, 24 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Adam and Henry Herwehe of Monroe, one sister, Mrs. W. Marks of Reasnor. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the Community church Friday at 11:30 with Rev. Edd Thompson in charge. Burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were the six grandsons, Fred, Lawrence and Wallace Kling, Ray Ver Steeg, Adam Brunner and Philip Vander Putte. Mrs. Kling united with the Lutheran church when a girl.
