MRS. ED (LIZZIE) VER STEEG--Mrs. Ed Ver Steeg, 70, a life-long resident of Jasper county, died yesterday at the St. Francis Hospital in Grinnell. Mrs. Ver Steeg was taken to the hospital in Grinnell last week after suffering a ehart attack. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Thursday at the Lynnville Friends church. The Rev. Carl Byrd, pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will be at Woodland cemetery. Pallbearers, all nephews of Mrs. Ver Steeg, will be Adam Brunner, Fred, Earl and Lester Kling, Philip and Elmer Vander Putte. Bessie Sparks and Margaret Lewis will have charge of flowers. A mixed quartet, the Rev. and Mrs. Byrd, Jennie Dearinger and Warren Stanley, accompanied by Mrs. Harriett Macy, will sing "In The Garden" and "I Won't Cross Jorden Alone." The Cooperative Garden Chapel of Pella will have charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ver Steeg is survived by her husband, three children, a son, Ray Ver Steeg of Lynville, and two daughters, Elizabeth Van Rees of Taintor and Barbara Willemsen of Kellogg. Other survivors are four grandchildren, Larry Van Rees, Arvellamae Willemsen and Gene and Clark Ver Steeg; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Brunner of Newton. She was preceded in death by a grand child, Ivan Ray Van Rees; her parents, three brothers, Philip, Albert and Adam Kling, and a sister, Lucy Vander Putte. The daughter of Adam and Barbara Herwehe Kling, Mrs. Ver Steeg was born July 12, 1884 at Galesburg. She was married to Ed Ver Steeg Nov. 16, 1904. Mrs. Ver Steeg, when a girl, was a member of the Galesburg Methodist church.
