Betty L. (Illingworth) Bowen, 80, of Newton died on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at the Newton Health Care Center in Newton.

As per Betty’s wishes, she has been cremated, and private family services, to be held at a later date, are pending at the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

Betty L. (Illingworth) Bowen, 80, of Newton died on Feb. 26, 2013, at the Newton Health Care Center in Newton.

A private family burial will be held.

Survivors include her sons, Rob (Deb) Bowen of Dallas Center and Rory Bowen of Newton; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Fred (MaryLou) Illingworth of Russell, Rock (Karen) Illingworth of Newton and Ella Savage; her sister-in-law, Colleen Illingworth of Newton; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty’s son, Rusty L. Bowen, died on March 29, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Murray “Buck” Bowen in 2004; three brothers, including her twin brother, Billy Frank Illingworth, and John Illingworth; and brother-in-law, Leonard Savage.
