Johanna Callison, 83, of Newton died on Tuesday, October 18, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center under the care of Skiff Hospice. Services will be held at a later date. Johanna, the daughter of Wilhelm and Karolina (Reis) Schmidt, was born on September 29, 1929 in Butzbach, Germany. She lived in Germany for 32 years before moving to California and then to Iowa. Johanna was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and going to the casino. Those left to honor Johanna’s memory are her 5 children, Kitty (Gary) Meyer of Newton, Inge (Dave) Blough of Ft. Wayne, IN, Nady (Tim) Thompson of Rolla, MO, James Callison of Indianapolis, IN, and David Callison of Manchester, IN; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Darlene Hiscutt; and her brothers.

Johanna Callison, 83, of Newton died on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
