Death Takes Weaver Lee
Had Been Ill For Six Years - Suffered Much Last Five Days

Weaver Lee, 38 years old, died this morning at the home of his mother, Mrs. Anna Lee, after an illness of six years suffering from Neuritis. All during his illness he has been confined to his bed and the last five days he has been suffering from an acute attack of neuritis. During his illness he has been tenderly cared for by his mother.

Mr. Lee has lived with his mother on the home place which has been the home of the Lee family for the past half century. The Lee farm is located across from the Brick school three miles south of Newton. James Lee, Weaver Lee’s father, was one of the pioneers of Jasper County and a veteran of the Civil war. He died 36 years ago when Weaver was but a small child. Weaver attended the Brick school and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. He has many friends and a number of relatives.

Before his illness Mr. Lee was engaged in farming and in mining. It is thought by his friends that his illness was contracted during his work in the mines for it was there that he was first taken ill with rheumatism.

He has been a patient sufferer and appreciative of the many kindnesses shown him by his many friends.

Besides his mother Mrs. Lee, he leaves his sisters, Mrs. Wilson Lister, Mrs. Arthur Stover of Newton; and Mrs. William Long of Kansas City. Mrs. Long and her baby will be in Newton tomorrow morning.

Mrs. Lister has been unable to be with her brother during his last illness for she has been suffering for the past nine months with la grippe and she has been confined at home.
No funeral arrangements have yet been announced.
