Eli Wilding of Colfax is Dead
Services To Be Held for Veteran Coal Miner and Farmer Thursday

Colfax - Eli Wilding, 78, resident of Colfax and community for more than half a century, died Monday evening at the Gordon Sanatorium in Des Moines following a lingering illness with a malignant disease.

Mr. Wilding, a native of Wales who settled in Colfax 54 years ago had been in ill health for some time. He mined coal and farmed in and around Colfax all his life.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 o’clock Thursday morning at the Immaculate Conception church in Colfax, with the Rev. Father Kelly in charge. Burial will be in the Colfax cemetery.

Mr. Wilding is survived by two sons, John Wilding of Colfax and Arthur Wilding of DesMoines and 11 grandchildren including Mrs. Doris Stacey and W. D. Wilding of Newton, Iris Wilding of DesMoines, Enid and Mary Charlotte Wilding of Colfax, and Jack, Robert, Tommy, Don, Dick and Mary Wilding all of DesMoines.
