Mrs. Charles H. Jontz died at her home in this city Tuesday morning at 7 o’clock, after an illness, which extended over the past year. Consumption was the disease that baffled the skill of the physicians and bereaved the home that is now in mourning.

Sallie J. Sanderson was born in Marshall County, Illinois, Nov. 17, 1867. The family left Illinois some twenty-four years ago and went to Boone County, Iowa. After a ten years residence there, they went to Nebraska. From there the deceased came to Jasper County and was married to Charles H. Jontz, Nov. 15, 1888, the ceremony taking place at State Center. About a year ago she became ill and last June she and Mr. Jontz went to Colorado. They came back here in January and in February left again for New Mexico, in the vain hope that there might yet be some help for her. But when they reached Colorado Springs, they were forced to turn back and come home. Since that time they have simply waited for the end.

Her father, John Sanderson of Rockwell City, a sister, Mrs. Kate Sanford of Chadron, Minn., and a brother, Fred of Ft. Dodge, were with her when the end came, two brothers and a sister not being able to be present.

Deceased was a member of the Christian Church and the funeral will be held from that church at 2 o’clock this afternoon, Rev. E. F. Leake officiating.
