Visitation: The family will greet friends from 10 a.m., until the time of service on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.

Those left to honor Ruby's memory are her two daughters, Sonja A. (David) Vovos of Battle Lake, Minnesota, and Sherryl L. (Calvin) Pherigo of Newton; thirteen grandchildren, and her twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John William and Icy Emma (Rouse) Dixon; husband, James in 1987; son, Jack in 2009; 8 brothers and 3 sisters.

Ruby was the head cook for the hot lunch program for 10 years at Washington Elementary School. Besides those 10 years, Ruby was a homemaker.

Ruby was a member of the First Christian Church and the Jasper County Senior Citizens.

Ruby loved to quilt and crochet. She also enjoyed collecting tea pots, dolls, and Fiesta Dinnerware.
