Visitation: The familiy will greet friends from 5-8 P.M., Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Thursday May 17, 2012 at Newton Union Cemetery.

Bob, the son of Gerrit and Ethel (Scarbrough) Samson was born on January 19, 1937 in Kellogg. He attended rural Prairie City Schools. Bob was united in marriage with Alice Van Ryswyk on May 20, 1960 in Newton. Upon marriage they lived in Knoxville, Sully and Baxter, until moving to rural Newton. Bob was a lifelong farmer and dedicated his life to his land and fields. Bob was a charter member of the former Community Reformed Church and had more recently attended the Metz Church and Cowboy Church. After Alice’s death in February of 2011, Bob was married to Sandy Slesinski Yoder on December 28, 2011 in rural Newton. Bob enjoyed traveling and camping. Those left to honor Bob’s memory are his wife, Sandy Samson of Newton; two daughters, Lori (Dave) Stanley of Osage and Patti (Jeff) Olson of Cedar Falls; and four grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Stanley and Caleb and Collin Olson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; son, Steven Robert; and a brother, Don Samson.

Memorials to the Cowboy Church or the Metz Church Building Fund may be left at the funeral home.
