Memorial Service: 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 18, 2012 at the funeral home.
Visitation: The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M., Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the memorial service on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Curtis, the son of Russell and Carolyn (Dow) Peterson, was born on March 11, 1970 in Des Moines. He graduated from Newton High School in 1988 and worked at Midwest Manufacturing for 21 years. Curt was married to Susan Stier on August 5, 1995 in Grinnell. Together they had a beautiful daughter, Ryan. Curt later spent 13 years with Shelly Lolwing and they became husband and wife on March 4, 2010. They were blessed with a son, Benjamin. Curt was a member of the Emerson Hough Chapter of the Izaak Walton League. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, a good laugh, and hanging out with family and friends. Curt had a special bond with his two children. Those left to honor Curt’s memory are his wife, Shelly Peterson; daughter, Ryan Peterson; son, Benjamin Peterson; his father, Russell Peterson; brother, Duane (Amy) Peterson; sister, Ranee (Randy Schiller) Dowdy; and three nephews, Alec Dowdy, Michael Peterson, and Matthew Peterson, all of Newton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Peterson.

Memorials in Curtis’s name or to the John Stoddard Cancer Center may be left at the funeral home.
