Visitation: The family will greet friends from 5-7 P.M., Monday, April 16, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the funeral home.
Those left to honor Wayne's memory are his wife, Beverly Wertz of Newton; daughter, Sharon (Mike) Allison of rural Newton; son, Bret Wertz of Urbandale; his 3 grandchildren, Kyle Wertz of Newton, Korry Stephenson of Reasnor, and Jonelle Wertz of Newton; great-granddaughter, Maria Stephenson of Reasnor; his sister, June (Arnold) Buckley of Des Moines; brother, Darrell (Nellie) Wertz of Kellogg; and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Muriel (Sparks) Wertz; a daughter, Rebecca Ellen; and a sister, Marlene Wertz.

Wayne graduated from Kellogg High School in 1950. He worked for the Parsons Company for many years prior to working for New Holland. He later drove bus for Progress Industries.

Wayne served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Memorials in Wayne's name may be left at the funeral home.
