Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Saturday, April 07, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Saturday, April 07, 2012 at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton.Those left to honor Nellie's memory are her daughter, Sheryl (Rick) Puls of Malcom; her son, Steve L. (Dana) Osborn of Newton; three grandchildren, Tanner Puls of Malcom, Heather Osborn and Spencer Osborn, both of Newton; her five brothers, David Reed, Ray (Pat) Reed, Ron (Sharon) Reed, Terry (Carol) Reed, all of Albia, and Randy (Penny) Reed of Ottumwa; her sister-in-law, Joán Reed of Albia; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert B. "Tobe" and Signe Marie Carlson Reed, and her mother who raised her, Elsie E. Carlson; husband, Ramon in July of 2011; and brother, Bob Reed.
Nellie was a graduate of Albia High School in 1954.
Nellie worked from 1954-1957, for the Vernon Company in Newton. She began working as an Avon Representative in 1967 and worked for 30+ years.
Nellie was a member of the UAW 997 Auxiliary, Izaak Walton League Ikettes, Avon President’s Club, and the Spring Chicks Bowling League. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, she also enjoyed spending time with her family at Lake Ponderosa. She enjoyed dancing, Bluegrass music, bowling with the Spring Chicks, camping, fishing, and going on trips with Osborn Tours.
