A private family graveside service will be held at Newton Union Cemetery.

Dorothy D. Berkenbosch, the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Duncan) McKay, was born on June 21, 1929 in Unionville, Missouri. She graduated from Unionville High School in 1947. After high school she moved to the Newton, Iowa area to work at the Maytag Company. Dorothy was united in marriage with Harold Berkenbosch and they were blessed with three children: Larry, Sandy, and David. Dorothy worked as both a homemaker and an in home caregiver. She attended Community Heights Alliance Church. Dorothy enjoyed riding her bicycle and being with her grandchildren. Dorothy died, at the age of 82, on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Skiff Hospice Monarch Wing in Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul and Bill McKay; and a sister, Avis Davis. Those left to honor Dorothy’s memory are her children, Larry Berkenbosch of Newton, Sandy (Tim) Morgan of Newton, and David (Darlene) Berkenbosch of Newton; three grandchildren, Andy and Bradley Berkenbosch and Lauren Morgan; her sister, Laura Helmken of Unionville, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Bobbi McKay of Centerville.

Memorials to Skiff Hospice Monarch Wing may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa.
