Visitation: The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.

Those left to honor Edith's memory are her brother, Bruce (Mary) Schroder of Newton; her two sisters, Armenta (George) Buckingham of Des Moines, and Pat Schroder of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman A. and Erma C. (Jones) Schroder; husband, Basil “Buck” in 1997; brother, Wilbur; and sister, Sandra in infancy.

Edith was a graduate of Newton High School in 1959.

Edith was a retired production worker for the Maytag Company where she had worked for many years.

Edith loved the support and friends she made at the Skiff Hospice Support Group and Support Group lunches. Edith loved her family, pets, NASCAR, camping, watching soap operas on TV, grilling out with family and friends, and her great-nephew’s sporting events.
