Visitation: The family will greet friends from 1-2 P.M., Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 2 P.M., Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Newton Union Cemetery.

Those left to honor Darlene's memory are her daughter, Pamela Sue (Norman) Willey of Rock Springs, Wyoming; 3 sons, Ed (Lois) Gilkison of Colfax, Max (Joyce) Gragg of What Cheer, Mick (Donna) Gragg of What Cheer; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Emeral (Joyce) McDonald of Muscatine; Sister, Patsy Anderson of Muscatine; longtime friend, Carroll Hammer; and her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Anna (Drew) McDonald; husband, Leslie in 2004; sons, Michael and Marvin Gragg; daughter, Peggy Walker; her 2 brothers, Harry and Mick McDonald; and sister, Margaret Meade.

Darlene was a waitress and cook at many restaurants around Newton. She also did in home daycare. She was a member of TOPS, Pocahontas Lodge, and a Red Cross Volunteer. Darlene enjoyed fishing and roller skating.
