June 13, 1934 - February 12, 2012
Baxter, Iowa

Visitation: The family will greet friends from 10-11 A.M., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 11 A.M., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the service there will be a lunch at the funeral home. Following the lunch burial will be held February 18, 2012 at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Those left to honor Donald's memory are his children, Christy (David) Mulert of Owatonna, MN, Marcella (Craig) Brechler of Phoenix, AZ, Jason (Diane) McGriff of Tiffin, IA, and Donald Kenneth (Jonell) McGriff of Georgetown, TX; 9 grandchildren, Mitchell Mulert, Kadyn Mulert, Ellen Brechler, Evelyn Brechler, Jessica Brechler Whittier, Corgan McGriff, Reese McGriff, Donald McGriff, and Katherine McGriff-Pitts; and his siblings, Ciriin Longergan, Michael (Priscilla) McGriff, and Roxy (James) Hazelton.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Caroline Platt Borton; wife, Shirely McGriff in September 2011; and a granddaughter, Hannah Brechler.

Donald was retired from the Navy.

He was a member of the VFW, NRA, and the American Legion.
